German Shepherd vs. External Hard Drive

See wha' had happin' was.....

So, I was completely MIA around blog land this week, and I wanted to say/vent why. This past Saturday (16th) my "Mother-in-law's" German Shepherd decided to battle with my Seagate 1 TB Desktop External Hard Drive while trying to get to a kitten... If you have ever had, or known someone who has German Shepherd's you will understand when I say THEY ARE RETARDED!!! Not to say I don't love them just the same if not more because of their apparent mental disabilities, but I will say I almost lost it when I saw my 34 day old lifeline hit the cold, depressing, angry, tile floor.

So exactly 34 days after I had bought this shiny new toy it was destroyed. Not to mention it was of coarse 4 days after the warranty had expired. Yes, I watched this poor helpless electronic dragged across the side table, where it had been resting, while it quietly downloaded new exciting media. Yes, it was on... Then I watched it scream for help as it made close friends with the ground. We unplugged it, and turned it back on and low and behold... CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, and many more clicks.

For those non-techys... this clicking noise is the ultimate noise of doom. This doom noise usually means the internal structure has been damaged, and you can't fix it without careful, warranty breaking steps to repair it. It also means you have basically lost all of the information on the drive.

Now, that would be fine if I hadn't all ready loaded all of my music, images, graphic and web design original files, all HTML coding files, movies, and EVERYTHING OF MY LIFE! So, at this point I'm fully ready to commit my first animal hate crime, and I remember that Amanda, Jo's mom, and the owner of the dog happens to be next to me in the kitchen. This was likely the most God has ever looked after the dog... because I could never hurt the dog in general, but especially with the owner right there. Oh did I mention I also live in her house..... So yes, God protected Dulce. This did not stop me from posting the following status on Facebook (Slightly graphic)

Lillian Juda Beach-Leonard: thanks for destroying my terabyte Dulce, way to f* sh* up. (The one I just bought 34 days ago so I can't get a refund......) I hope a porcupine hits you... cuz I won't be fixing it... FAIR TRADE for the pain you have caused me... ALL OF MY WEBSITE DESIGN FILES WERE ON THERE!!!! ALL OF MY GRAPHICS!!!!!

Ok so, I don't usually get that angry... like ever, but I couldn't stand the fact that my poor dear drive was gone. The good news is I was able to contact the seller on Amazon and they were willing to give me a refund. This however does not get my files back, but I can get a new one....

Bitersweet ending I suppose...
